While inhabitants of each city will proudly proclaim their hometown as the best in all the land, visitors of said cities often have a different opinion.
Urban Dictionary is the perfect place to discover the good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright hilarious ways that people have described some of the UK’s cities. It’s always entertaining to see what people have to say about different places when they’re influenced by football rivalries, hometown pride, or perhaps just a general (and strong) dislike of a particular location.
Here are some of the best Urban Dictionary definitions of places in the UK.
Out of date football reference aside, Bristol has always considered itself as one of the cool kids.
I would dispute that the “charver / charva” pubs are the ones to avoid. Three trebles for £6? Yes please.

While it’s neither northern nor southern, Nottingham does have rather a rep for gun crime, thus leading it to be fondly known as Shottingham.
I completely disagree with this. However, there were no other Urban Dictionary definitions for Sheffield perhaps proving how irrelevant it really is.
