Netflix Have Added A Cannibal Horror Movie That Will Seriously Mess You Up
If you like your horror movies to be as “bloody and visceral as an R rating will allow”, then you’re in for a treat.
Netflix’s latest original – The Bad Batch – is a cannibal horror movie that’s quickly gaining notoriety for its violence and gore. It’s drawing comparisons to Mad Max: Fury Road, with some suggesting that it’ll quickly gain a similar cult status.
Starring Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones), Suki Waterhouse (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), Keanu Reeves and Jim Carrey, The Bad Batch is set in a post-apocalyptic America in which anyone deemed unfit for society is exiled to the desert.
Now, the desert is completely lawless which – given that it’s inhabited by the undesirables of the world – makes it a pretty dangerous place to live. Within the first ten minutes of the movie – for example – our heroine Arlen is kidnapped by cannibals, has two of her limbs removed, and then has to cover herself in her own poo to escape.
We won’t give away much more than that, but rest assured that it gets even more messed up…
The Bad Batch was directed by Ana Lily Amirpour, who is no stranger to cult horror. She helmed 2014’s A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, which saw a vampire stalking the residents of a desolate Iranian town.
Provided that you’re cool with watching someone get their arm sawed off, you can watch the trailer for The Bad Batch here:
