All The Horror Movies Coming Between Now And Halloween

September is here, which means that Halloween is coming, which means that the cinema is filled with horror movies, ripe for the picking.

Check out your options here:

IT

Probably the most anticipated horror movie of 2017, IT is the story of a creepy clown who terrorises a small New England town, killing and eating children.

The trailer is just about the scariest thing we’ve ever seen, and the reviews (even from author of the IT book Stephen King) have been outstanding. For horror fans, this isn’t one to miss…

The Vault

James Franco and Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black) star in The Vault – a thriller that quickly reveals itself to be a very twisted horror movie.

It sees two sisters rob a bank, but quickly realise that they should never have opened the titular “vault”. It turns out that it wasn’t keeping money safe, it was harbouring something so evil that it should never have been allowed to see the light of day…

Mother!

If you loved Black Swan, then you should be excited about Mother!. It’s the latest movie from director Darren Aronofsky, and sees Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence make her first foray into horror.

We don’t know much about the plot – just that “uninvited guests” arrive at a couple’s home – but the trailer is enough to make us shiver…

15th September

Brimstone

Game of Thrones stars Carice Van Houten and Kit Harington join forces in Brimstone – the story of a frontier woman forced to go on the run in the Wild West when she’s accused of a crime that she didn’t commit.

There’s definitely hints of witchcraft in the trailer, which is very violent, and very brutal.

Flatliners

Nina Dobrev, Ellen Page and James Norton star in this remake of Flatliners – the classic horror that saw a group of medical students experiment with the afterlife, by stopping their hearts and then shocking themselves back to life a few minutes later.

They quickly learn, however, that they’re playing with fire…

The Ritual

A British horror movie with hints of the Blair Witch, The Ritual is about a group of college friends (Rafe Spall, Downton Abbey’s Robert James Collier, Arsher Ali and Sam Troughton) who reunite for a hike in the forest. Always a bad idea…

They quickly realised that they’re being stalked by a supernatural presence that has nefarious intent. Check out the trailer here:

The Snowman

Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Ferguson (The Girl on the Train) star in this adaptation of The Snowman – a story about a ruthless serial killer who leaves a snowman at the scene of his crimes.

It certainly has an all-star cast – J.K. Simmons, Chloe Sevigny, Val Kilmer and Charlotte Gainsbourg also appear.

13th October

Happy Death Day

Like a f*cked up version of Groundhog DayHappy Death Day sees college student Tree (yes, that’s her name) forced to relive the day of her murder, until she can figure out who kills her.

It looks jumpy, but fun.

20th October

Jigsaw

The eighth Saw movie sees a series of brutal murders baffle local police – they look to be the work of infamous serial killer Jigsaw, but he’s long dead… Is this a copycat? Or something much worse…

With a Saw movie, we’re guessing you know what to expect. Lots of violence, lots of gore, and some completely f*cked death scenes. The perfect Halloween watch…

Which of these are you going to watch? Let us know what you think in the comments!
