'Game Of Thrones' Are Shooting Three Different Endings For An Interesting Reason

We’d all been avoiding the big ‘F’ word (…finale, not the other one) in the hopes that if we didn’t admit it out loud, it wouldn’t happen.

Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, while the final season may have been delayed – it is definitely still the last episodes of Game Of Thrones we’ll ever get. Woe is us.

But, if it’s any consolation, there’s a chance we may get to see more than one finale. Anything for extra GOT minutes, right?

The head of HBO Casey Bloys told The Morning Call about their plans to safeguard the big ending we’ve all been waiting for. He’s said they plan to film as many as three versions of the finale, to keep the entire cast and crew in the dark as to which is the real one.

“I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens,” Bloys said. “You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

David Beneioff, co-creater of the show, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the struggle to fight off hackers and leaks.

“Even the CIA and NSA are unable to prevent leaks. It’s incredibly hard for anybody with a show of this size, with so many people working on it, and all you need is one person — and it’s not necessarily a bad egg among the crew members. The leak can be a relative or roommate to somebody with access to the scripts who decides to try and get a few Facebook friends.

It becomes harder every year as the show and the viewership expands. Thankfully there are so many false rumours — which makes us happy, because it becomes harder for people to know what’s real and what’s not real. We will do everything we can to keep [leaks] from happening.”

Is it selfish of us to wish that hackers release the other two not-right finale’s too? Just so we get more time in the world of GOT?

And talking of leaks and potential clues, Euron Greyjoy actor Pilou Asbaek has posted what could potentially be a huge clue for the seventh season: a photo of him/his character looking aged and with some very interesting hashtags.

The most telling hashtag has to be the one which says “what marriage will do to you”, which leaves fans wondering whether season 8 will involve a glimpse into the far, far future and weather that future involves a Cersei/Euron marriage. Yuck.

Of course, it is possible the actor is in costume for another show or movie, but we like to hope this is a huge clue for the next season.

And we’re still talking about Game Of Thrones, check out the cast singing Taylor Swift’s new song:

Oh, Game of Thrones. What will we do without you?
