The Worst Apps For Draining Your Phone's Battery Have Been Revealed

It’s a well-known fact that Snapchat drains your battery faster than a double G&T in London will drain your bank account. Even so, Snapchat isn’t the only app that’s guilty of sapping away your phone’s battery life and it certainly isn’t the worst offender. Many of the apps that are actually the most detrimental to your phone’s battery are ones that may have escaped your notice.

Tech firm Avast have revealed the top 10 battery draining apps for Android users and Snapchat doesn’t even make the cut. Avast’s report also identifies the most villainous apps for hogging data traffic, eating into storage, and impacting overall phone performance.

By looking at data from 3,000,000 Android users Avast have discovered the worst 10 apps for ruining your battery life:

Ways to get around these app-solute battery drainers include deleting some of the apps you don’t need, switching to a different but similar app, or changing the way you use that particular service.

For example, with Facebook you can stop using the actual app and instead access it via your web browser. Using Facebook via the web browser may be whole lot slower but you’ll be patting yourself on the back when you discover the battery saving ability this neat little trick has.

So now you know exactly which apps are the most detrimental to your phone’s battery, data, storage, and performance, airing your mum’s phone calls under the guise of low battery may be an excuse that has had its heyday.
