This Viral 'Game Of Thrones' Video Will Swing You Over To Jaime Lannister's Side

Spoiler alert: If you haven’t seen the latest episode of ‘Game of Thrones’, we’d advise you look away now.

The ending of last week’s ‘Game of Thrones’ was one of the best that we’ve had in a while. Daenerys finally brought her dragons to war and showed the Lannisters that she truly isn’t one to be messed with. Drogon rained fire over masses of helpless soldiers and poor Jaime Lannister could do nothing but watch.

In the last moments of the episode, fans were torn, as Jaime seemingly made a snap decision to kill Daenerys – potentially risking his own life in the process. As he charged towards her, spear in hand, a wounded Drogon woke from his brief slumber to protect his mother, shooting out a blast of fire to ward Jaime away.

It was touch and go for a second there, but, thankfully, someone managed to push Jaime out of the way before the flames could reach him. As a result, Jaime was plunged into a deep bed of water, with no confirmation as to whether he might survive.

Surely, we weren’t the only ones who, when Jaime charged his horse towards Daenerys, were concerned for his safety. Even Tyrion, who was watching from some distance away, was quietly hoping that his brother would turn away and flee. In the moment that Jaime decided to go after Daenerys, we all wondered what the hell was going through his mind.

Well, a recent video has surfaced, and it might shed some light on that.

As well know, Jaime gained his nickname of Kingslayer by slaying the Mad King (aka. the father of Daenerys). Whilst, for many, it was deemed taboo to kill a King that you’ve pledged to serve, Jaime’s reason for killing the Mad King proves that he might be an exception to that rule.

In the past six seasons, Jaime has continuously said that the Mad King intended to ‘burn them all‘. Specifically, the Mad King wanted to set Westeros on fire completely, burning his enemies (and everyone else) to death. He also wanted Jaime to kill his own father.

Jaime felt that it was his duty to put a stop to the Mad King’s plans, so he murdered him.

If we fast-forward to the last episode, when Daenerys brought her dragons and set his soldiers on fire, it was almost as if Jaime could see her dead father’s wish to ‘burn them all‘ coming true right before his eyes. When he looked at her, he saw the Mad King all over again – and it was his worst fear.

So, in order to put a stop to the possible terror that he felt she could reign (like her father), he felt that it would be better to risk his own life to stop her.

This is all depicted through multiple scenes in this video, which has gone viral since the last Game of Thrones episode. Check it out below to get a better understanding of what Jaime was thinking:
