There's A Mobile Gin Bar That Will Bring G&Ts Right To Your Front Door
A gin phenomenon has well and truly swept the nation.
All of a sudden gin has become the new ‘it’ drink – and although I’m a fan – people that don’t enjoy it tend to get treated like lepers by the rest of us.
It’s become such a national treasure in fact, that to say you aren’t a fan is basically blasphemous.
Not that I’m complaining, but the world has gone slightly gin mad; there’s gin bars, gin festivals, there’s even pink gin. I’m just hoping that this isn’t a fad that’s bound to phase out like Apple Watches and going to the gym.
But there is one drawback to everyone’s favourite spirit, and that’s that we have to go to a bar or shop to get our greedy little mitts on it. Until now, that is.
Now there’s a mobile gin bar locked and loaded with various gin-based drinks that will bring the good stuff right to your front door.
The van, nicknamed ‘The Wanderer’, drives around the UK looking to satisfy everyone’s gin related needs. It’s available to hire and is apparently perfect for weddings and big events, or those that can’t be arsed to leave their house.
Nick Whitby, who is part of The New World Trading Company who own the van, said:
“We get inundated with requests asking if we can provide our cocktails and drinks for their private celebrations.
The Wanderer is perfect for this.
The vehicle has been adapted to house a sleek bar but it also promises to deliver our highest standard of award winning cocktails and drinks no matter where the celebration is, up and down the country.”
According to Metro, the boozy van comes with a range of gin brands for all you enthusiasts to enjoy, as well as various other ‘world class’ ales and refreshments.
It sounds a bit like a pizza delivery service, but as you’d expect with something this awesome, it comes at a price. It’ll set you back £1,500 to hire a fully stocked van, with a further £500 charge for the bar team, ice and glassware. (Not sure why they include ice in that price, how expensive can that be?)
Just when you thought gin had hit its peak.
All aboard the gin mobile!
