It Looks Like Eminem Might Have A New Album On The Way
Slim Shady could be making a long-awaited return to the hip-hop scene, as news has surfaced that the 44-year-old has allegedly been quite busy in the studio with fellow rappers Doctor Dre and 2 Chainz.
Allen Hughes, the director of a HBO docu-series focused on the relationship between Doctor Dre and record executive Jimmy Iovine, has revealed that Eminem may be working on a new album. Speaking to Uproxx, the director insisted that Doctor Dre still records in the studio, and is still very active in the music industry:
“Dre still records,” Hughes said. “People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know? But I hear what you’re saying. It’s the truth.”
Fans of the controversial rapper should delight at the news, as Eminem’s last album was released four years ago. His eighth album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, saw the 8-Mile actor battling his demons with tracks such as Asshole and Stronger Than I Was.
Whilst Eminem has taken some time out of the spotlight since 2014, the rapper recently popped up to wish 50 Cent happy birthday. He also was spotted in an Instagram photo with 2 Chainz, with the hashtag: #marshalllikestrapmusic seen in the caption.
This suggests that the two might have paired up for a track on his alleged album, and fans might even see Eminem take a dip into other sub-genres of hip-hop.
Also, that beard tho.
