Disney Is Opening A 'Star Wars' Hotel That Sounds A Lot Like 'Westworld'
It was announced at the recent D23 expo that Disney will be building an immersive hotel tailored specifically to fans of the Star Wars franchise. Each guest will get their own “story-line” and if that doesn’t scream ‘Westworld‘ to you, then perhaps this description from the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman, Bob Chapek, might change your mind.
“We are working on our most experiential concept ever. It combines a luxury resort with immersion in an authentic environment. It will invite you to live your own dedicated, multi-day adventure in a galaxy far, far away.” he announced to audiences during the expo.
Here are a few details about the hotel:
- All of the employees of the hotel will be in costume and in character.
- Each guest will get a story-line. Disney says this will “touch every single minute of your day”.
- The hotel is meant to take place on a space ship; so the ‘windows’ will only show space.
There will be no synthetic humans involved (that we know of), and Thandie Newton wont be running around trying to die all the bloody time, but the concept of the hotel does sound very much like the premise of the popular HBO series.
It also sounds cool AF.
Dubbed ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’, the hotel could cost up to $1,000 per guest for a 2-night stay, and should be located in Florida’s Walt Disney World.
