Cast Announced For Tim Burton's Live Action Remake Of 'Dumbo'

Tim Burton is making a comeback with the recently announced live-action adaptation of Disney’s Dumbo, and we are beyond ecstatic at the news.

Released all the way back in 1941, Dumbo was a film that charmed audiences mainly because of the titular character. The story follows a young circus elephant born with unusually large ears. Whilst he is initially shunned as an outcast for his differences, he later discovers that his peculiar ears give him the magnificent ability to fly.

Set for release on March 29th 2019, the live-action adaptation has already secured three heavy-weight actors for the human roles.

Colin Farrell will play the role of Holt Farrier, a former circus star who is still slightly scarred by the horrors of war. Whilst working at a rundown circus, a newborn elephant with gigantic ears (Dumbo) is placed under his care. Despite this seeming like a cruel joke, Holt and his children (Hobbins and Parker)  soon discover that the baby elephant has talents beyond their wildest imaginations (we’re guessing that this is when they find out that he can fly).

Michael Keaton is set to take on the character of V.A. Vandevere, a money-making entrepreneur, who could view Dumbo’s special ability as an opportunity to make some serious cash. Fun fact: Michael Keaton hasn’t worked with Tim Burton since ‘Batman Returns’ in 1992.

Last but certainly not least, Danny DeVito will play Max Medici, the circus owner who forces Colin Farrell’s character to take charge of Dumbo.

Similar to the live-action adaptation of Lion King, Disney will use ground-breaking technology to bring Dumbo to life in hyper-realistic glory. Unfortunately, there has been no word on any other animals, but the first image of Dumbo has been released, and we have to say that she is an absolute beauty:
