Trump Says "No Politician Has Been Treated Worse", So Twitter Points Out How Wrong He Is
Trump’s fact checker must be on holiday – or perhaps he fired him too. Either way, with all the people that are calling for his impeachment, it would be expected that the President would make sure not to draw any more attention to himself.
However, this is Trump that we’re talking about. Yesterday, in a commencement speech at the Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut, he declared that no other politician had ever been treated as badly as him:
“Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media,” the US President told the young graduates, “No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly.”
Of course, Twitter immediately pointed out the inaccuracy of Trump’s words. In a line of hilarious tweets, users listed a few examples of political figures who had, with absolute certainty, experienced things much worse than what Trump is going through right now. Examples included Nelson Mandela’s 27 years in prison, and President John.F.Kennedy being shot in the face….
Check out the best responses to Trump’s statement below!

The rest of his speech took on a more motivational tone, with an additional mention of his plans for the future. Trump explained that his team are currently focusing on tax reforms and healthcare, as well as the construction of the Mexican border wall.
“The people understand what I’m doing,” Trump said, “and that’s the most important thing …”
