The news of James Comey being fired just proves that there is never a dull moment in the White House.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Donald Trump fired James Comey, the (now-ex) director of the FBI. In response to the news, the internet erupted with a myriad of responses, many in support of Trump’s decision, others against it, and some just amused by the drama of it all.

The news of James Comey’s dramatic exit comes in the midst of an ongoing investigation into Russia. Many have claimed that Comey was fired because he was investigating Trump as part of the case, with some calling the act as a step towards autocracy.

One thing that can certainly be concluded from this news is that everyone has an opinion – some of which have been articulated quite hilariously on Twitter:

A few TV Shows got in on the action. House of Cards made a subtle reference to Comey’s firing in a promotional tweet for season five, whilst The Daily Show threw shade at Trump’s apparent connections to Russia.

Julian Assange of WikiLeaks even had a few words to say:

Trevor Noah of The Daily Show takes the prize for best reaction to the news, however. The comedian and talk show host spent up to two minutes expressing his thoughts on Trump’s decision and the results were absolute gold. Check it out below!
