Netflix Drop A Chilling Trailer For True Crime Series 'The Keepers'


26-year-old nun Cathy Cesnik went missing in 1969. She left her Baltimore home to go shopping (to pick up some dinner rolls and cash a cheque) and never returned. 

Two months later (in early 1970), hunters stumbled upon her badly decomposed body in a field.

Over 40 years later, her murder is still unsolved.

In their latest true crime docu-series The Keepers, Netflix have tackled this mystery, examining several theories and possibilities.

Was she killed because she was about to lift the lid on child sex abuse within the Catholic Church? Was she murdered by a priest who she was having a romantic relationship with? Or was her death simply a tragic case of a lone woman being in the wrong place, at the wrong time?

Directed by Ryan White (The Case Against 8), The Keepers will examine clergy abuse, repressed memories and large-scale cover-ups.

Over the course of seven episodes, it will show how religious and governmental institutions “at best, dropped the ball over the last 45 years – and, at worst, covered it up.”  

All episodes will become available on Netflix on the 19th May.
