Woman Jailed After Playing Ed Sheeran's 'Shape Of You' On Repeat

A woman has been jailed after “torturing” her neighbours with Ed Sheeran.

Sonia Bryce, from Willenhall, England, reportedly played Shape of You, on repeat, at full blast for half an hour. This was apparently “the straw that broke the camel’s back” for her next door neighbour Clare Tidmarsh, who had had to put up with a “wholly unacceptable level of disturbance… time and time again”.

Tidmarsh complained, presenting authorities with a detailed log of the torments (“numerous comings and goings” with incessant “loud music, shouting and swearing”) that she had suffered at the hands of Bryce.

While Bryce denied playing Shape of You (claiming that she “doesn’t even like Ed Sheeran”), a judge saw enough evidence to hand her an eight-week prison sentence.

Not only had she been the subject of numerous complaints, Bryce had already served six weeks in prison for repeatedly breaching an injunction that forbade her from “creating a nuisance or annoyance”.

The judge told her:

“You must learn that you should behave as a reasonable and responsible adult, and not make life for your neighbours the misery that you have.

You have displayed nothing but violent animosity towards your neighbour, and I am quite convinced that you do not care.

Everybody is entitled to live in a degree of peace and quiet with the usual give and take of society, but you do not behave like a civilised person, and you have got to learn that you will.”
