People Are Freaking Out After Discovering What Missy Elliot Really Sings In 'Work it'
‘Work It’ was a stand out hit from 2006 that we all still get down to occasionally on a Friday at a slightly cheesy cocktail bar with a solid throwback playlist.
It’s one of those songs that you only know a few lines from, just the stand out lyrics like ‘phone before you come, I need to shave my chocha’ and ‘sex me so good I say blah-blah-blah’.
But it has recently come to the attention of the internet what exactly Missy Elliott is singing when it just sounds like gibberish.
She starts of the chorus by singing:
Is it worth it, let me work it
I put my thing down, flip it and reverse it
And then she literally flips and reverses it, singing:
Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gniht ym tup I
Is your mind as blown as ours is? All this time we had assumed she was just speaking gibberish…
Listen to the song and check for yourself:
The people of Twitter have been equal parts shocked and impressed since the discovery:
