Ed Sheeran Drops Two New Tracks, Twitter Goes Wild

Share

I first saw Ed Sheeran at a spoken word poetry event in Birmingham at the time that he was still sleeping on people’s couches and performing in pubs every night.

Despite, not surprisingly, being the only singer at a poetry event he completely stole the show that night, and has continued to do so during his meteoric rise to success since the release of + in 2011. After the release of his second album x and a massive world tour, he decided to take 2016 off, because why not. But now he’s back with not one but two new tracks, Castle on the Hill and Shape of You:

Yes, Ed. I wonder how long it’ll be till somehow gets “I’m in love with the shape of you” tattooed on themselves.

Ed said:

“Hello 2017! I’ve been working hard on the new material and I hope you can be as excited about it as I am. I really wanted to show two different sides to my music that I’m equally as passionate about and I just knew I wanted to roll with two songs at the same time. I’m absolutely buzzing to be back.”

Twitter is going, pretty typically, wild for the tracks:

Do you like the tracks? Let us know in the comments!
