Ben Affleck Has Confirmed He'll Be Directing The Standalone Batman Film

Ben Affleck has revealed that he will, after long uncertainty, direct ‘The Batman’, rumoured for a 2018 release date.

The star confirmed the news during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel last night.

Here’s the clip:

Affleck’s involvement in a standalone Batman movie had been in doubt after he said last week that directing, “wasn’t a set thing and that there’s no script“.

Behind the camera, Affleck has gained worldwide critical acclaim for his first three directorial efforts: The Town, Gone Baby Gone and Argo,  with the latter winning an Oscar for Best Picture.

DC fans will be excited given Batfleck’s track record, with both Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman falling short critically.
