A Sandwich Shop Owner Noticed Someone Going Through Her Bins And So She Invited Them In
A few people spotted this sign outside of P.B Jams, a sandwich store in Oklahoma.
The sign reads:
To the person going through our trash for their next meal,
You’re a human being worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a classic PB&J, fresh veggies, and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.
Who is this kind hostess? KFOR went down and spoke to the shop’s owner Ashley Jiron
Speaking to reporters, Ashley said, “Last week I had noticed some bags when I had taken out the trash were torn open and some of the food was taken out.”
Ashley said that it “hurt” her that somebody had been forced to rummage through her trash and so she put the sign on the dumpster and on the front door.
Ashley says that she won’t take the sign down until the person comes in, although she is worried that pride is keeping them away. So far nobody has come forward.
People have been flooding the shop’s Facebook page with compliments and well wishes after the gesture.
It’s worth mentioning, she did also put a sign on the dumpster but that’s not the one that people were posting all over the web.
Of course this kind gesture has led to some pretty awesome PR for Ashley, which goes to show how generosity pays sometimes. Good work all round.
