This Man Asks People To Translate A Hate Message He Received, The Responses Are Unforgettable

This is a video experiment to help with the launch of a Lithuanian website that offers advice on how people can react to racial, homophobic and other kinds of bullying and hate speech.

The people in the video (not professional actors) thought they were going to a casting to be an extra in a TV ad.  Upon arrival they were asked to wait in the waiting room. They had no idea that it was a set up or that the waiting room had hidden cameras.

A man asks them to translate a message for him and it quickly becomes clear that the message isn’t a pleasant one. The empathy showed by those asked to translate the message is heart-warming.

The video is in English, subtitles in Lithuanian, you can really see the pain etched onto these people’s faces.
