This Powerful Project Shows What It Is Like To Live With PTSD

For many, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a very real problem. It threatens the well being of the bravest among us and tears apart families as, on average, 22 veterans commit suicide a day. And that’s just in the US.

Photographer Devin Mitchell travelled the states last summer and took photos of veterans of the military to show the two sides of their lives – Service and being a civilian.

The photos allowed the subjects to expose their demons and their hidden sides as well as letting them vent their feelings.

One of the biggest theme’s Mitchell encountered was suicide and PTSD which is what makes his project so powerful.¬†

You can watch a mini-Documentary about the project here.
