Ecstasy, Ketamine And Crystal Meth Are Legal In Ireland For The Next 24 Hours

Tonight could be an eventful night on the streets of Ireland. Expect bedlam on every corner, declarations of love at every bus stop and all round anarchy.

Thanks to an accidental loophole in drug laws, an array of Class A drugs will be legal in Ireland for the next 24 hours.

The 1977 Misuse of Drugs Act was found unconstitutional by the Irish Court of Appeal this morning, making the drugs it outlaws technically legal. The Journal  said that he Dail will sit tonight to pass emergency legislation.

The bill will be rushed through as soon as possible but comes with a provision that states it can only take effect on the day after its signature. This leaves Ireland in a grey area when it comes to the legality of certain drugs including ecstasy, ketamine and crystal meth.

The big question remaining is what does Father Jack think to it all?
