A Dog On The Verge Of Death Meets A Prisoner With No Hope

Somewhere between 6-8 million cats and dogs enter shelters across America every year, and only around half of those find loving homes. Sadly, the remainder are normally put down.

In the UK, the RSCPA was reported to have destroyed around 53,000 animals in 2011, around 44% of all the animals they rescued; and 3,400 of those were destroyed for ‘non-medical’ reasons, such as the lack of space in kennels and catteries.

A documentary called ‘Dogs on The Inside‘ followed an initiative to use prisoners as foster homes for dogs, and it’s absolutely heart-wrenchingly adorable.
