Parole

This man went from villain to hero during the time he was supposed to be getting arrested. It was his quick reaction that helped save the life of the Florida police officer who was booking him.

Jamal Rutledge was being processed back in September by Officer Franklin Foulks, when Foulks suddenly collapsed and remained on the floor.

The surveillance video shows Rutledge reacting immediately by yelling and kicking the security fence to grab the other officers’ attention.

Rutledge was honoured by the police department for helping save Foulks’ life. Rutledge was being booked for violating parole when it hall happened. The teenager’s reaction alerted a sergeant who contacted police dispatch. The fallen officer required CPR and a defibrillator to restore a normal heartbeat.

A statement by the police department said, “Broward Health Medical Staff noted that Rutledge’s actions and the quick response of these officers were largely responsible for Officer Foulks surviving this medical episode.”

The big question is, did they let him off for that parole violation?
