American Sniper just enjoyed a whirlwind opening weekend by smashing box office records. The Clint Eastwood movie destroyed Avatar’s previous record of $68 million, raking in an incredible $90 million. The success, however, has not come without controversy. First political activist Michael Moore claimed snipers are just cowards.

Next it was the turn of comedian Seth Rogen, who compared Bradley Cooper’s portrayal of US Navy Seal Chris Kyle to a Nazi propaganda film.

Rogen was referring to the part in Inglorious Basterds where the film “Stolz der Nation (Nation’s Pride)” shows a German sniper killing 200 soldiers from a clock tower.

Not everyone was hating on the movie. It brought out a large chunk of ugly racism from some people, which we won’t be giving any air time to on here. It also brought out some more measured opinions.

After such a huge opening weekend we are sure that Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller are dusting off any criticism with relative ease.
