Share

12-year-old McKenna Peterson wrote to Dicks Sporting Goods after being appalled by the lack of a female presence in the retailers basketball catalogue.

“There are NO girls in the catalog,” she said in her letter. “Oh, wait, sorry. There IS a girl in the catalog on page 6. SITTING in the STANDS.”

The letter was posted onto Twitter by her father and has since gone viral, gaining extensive coverage across the media.

By Thursday afternoon the retailer had sent a response.

We’re pretty sure they won’t be making that mistake again. McKenna made an excellent point and its great to see her letter causing such a stir.
