Harry Potter Is Back - JK Rowling Pens New Story
JK Rowling has published an update showing what Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley are up to now – all written as a satire on the tabloid press
But Rowling appears to have other reasons behind her writing. The story is a thinly veiled attack on the tabloid press, for whom Rowling is said to have little fondness.
The setting is the Quidditch World Cup finals, where Harry, Hermione and Ron are all special guests in the VIP tent surrounded by boisterous crowds.
Harry is a 34-year-old married dad with “a couple of threads of silver” in his hair, still sporting his distinctive glasses and carrying a mysterious cut on his cheek. He is an Auror – member of an elite unit of specialist officers trained to apprehend Dark Wizards.
Ron, whose “famous ginger hair appears to be thinning slightly”, runs a joke shop. That seems about right.
He is married to Hermione, who has witnessed a “meteoric rise” to Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. The couple have two children, Hugo and Rose.
The three are still loyal friends.
