Student gets attacked by a shark, and then decides to go to the pub.

A medical student was fishing in Garden Bay, Invercargill, New Zealand, when a large Sevengill Shark attacked him. The shark bit the trainee doctor, creating a large bite wound in his leg. With blood gushing out of his leg, the doctor decided there was only one thing to do.

The brave doctor had to fight off the shark with a knife before calling out to his friends who fetched his medical equipment from his car. Using only basic needle and thread, the young doctor stitched up his own leg.

‘It was pretty well latched on, I was just trying to get it off,’ he told the Southland Times.

When his friends arrived they decided the best course of action was to go to the pub.
